Blood Squad Returns

October 2022

In the deep shadows it has waited, gathering strength. In the gloaming it opened its dark eyes and sharpened its blood-stained teeth. Now slowly into the moonlight it rises to claim its next victim.

After a long hiatus, the improvised slasher movie that has claimed the hearts of horror fans up and down the West Coast has returned for a one-night special event.

For the safety of the performers and patrons, masks will be required and must stay on throughout the performance.

All I Want For Christmas Is You

December 2019

Like sipping hot cocoa next to a wide open fireplace or stopping for a kiss under some perilously large icicles, the holidays are a time for special moments to share with the one you love.

Sometimes the magic of the season reveals love where you least expect it. But sometimes that love needs a little push. Sometimes that love needs to prove to you that SHE deserves to find that diamond ring in her stocking, NOT that woman you brought home from the big city, and anyone who can’t see that you are destined to be together is going to find themselves out in the cold where their body won’t be discovered until the snow thaws.

This holiday season, Blood Squad is proud to present ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU: an improvised horror movie set among the saccharine sweetness of a Christmas romance. It’s an evening of comedy you’ll cherish forever.)

Halloweekend

October 2018, 2019

You’ve sharpened your jack-o-lantern carving knives. You’ve thought about changing the flickering lightbulb at the end of that long hallway in the basement. You’ve watched your neighbor wait until nightfall, which comes earlier every day, to drag those heavy sacks to the backyard.

You’ve been killing time until Halloween, but now it’s time to kill. Spend Saturday night of Halloweekend with Blood Squad!

It’s a holiday tradition like no other: a completely improvised horror movie, shock-full of Halloween fun, created live before your eyes based on one audience suggestion. No blood, no props, no costumes, no mercy. (But you’re welcome to come in costume - ‘tis the season.)

Winter Weekend Slumber Slaughter

December 2018

It's that festive week between Christmas & the New Year and we're all snuggled down cozy with our cups of good cheer. Say, do you see those fresh tracks in the snow? How strange. We haven't been outside all day, and we’re miles from the nearest town. Who would be out there in this weather?

Oh no, the generator just went out. That wind is really howling! Let's light some candles and throw another log on the fire. So pretty in here, right honey? Honey? Bob? Stop teasing, I know you're in the kitchen because I can see your shadow creeping around the door frame. Bob?

Tis the season for slaughter! Blood Squad, in collaboration with Annex Theatre, presents a one-night-only improvised horror movie that will put an end to the holiday season and ring in the dead of winter.

Blood Squad at the Lyric Hyperion

October 2017

For the first time in Los Angeles since 2012, Blood Squad presents an improvised slasher movie just in time for Halloween Weekend at the (reportedly haunted) Lyric Hyperion Theatre in Silverlake.

With a deep knowledge of and genuine love for the classic slasher flick, Blood Squad’s shows are simple: a completely improvised horror movie created live before your eyes based on one audience suggestion. No blood, no props, no costumes, no mercy.

All Hallow's Cleave

September 2016

As children go happily costumed from house to house amidst lawns festooned with carved pumpkins, dodging Styrofoam headstones and plastic skeletons, it waits. As they pour out their bags of candy onto the soft, warm rug of their cozy living rooms and tear into chocolate, taffy & licorice with delight while an old scary movie drones serenely on the TV behind them, it waits. As the porches slowly go dark, bathing the quiet suburban street in an inky cloak of night, it prepares to strike.

Timber! Outdoor Music Festival

July 2016

Timber! Is the ultimate Summer weekend getaway where guests enjoy the sounds of the best music the NW has to offer while choosing from a number of outdoor activities that include free guided paddleboarding, kayaking, hiking with naturalists, stargazing with astrophysicists and much much more.

Bang Drive Kill

May 2016

Fast machines, bad boys and chicks with one thing on their mind… killing. Sharpen your switchblade as Blood Squad takes you back to the gory days of gritty Grindhouse horror. Whether your jam is such classic films as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Town that Dreaded Sundown, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill or modern homages like Planet Terror & Machete, join us for a night of high body count schlock horror, all grind. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.

Multum Homicidium

May 2016

Listen, sir. I have to say, I don’t think we’ve seen anything like this before. This guy is relentless. And what he’s doing to his victims… it’s.. well, it put my partner in a mental institution, he couldn’t handle it. But considering the circumstances, I want to suggest something that might seem unorthodox. Goddammit, it might be the only way. I want to lure him out. I want to show him he’s not alone. I want to make myself look like the ideal disciple for this sonofabitch. And to do that, I need to leave the badge behind, and become a murderer myself.

Amber Waves of Brain

July 2015

Weren’t those fireworks awesome? I just don’t know how they make all those cool shapes! Hahahaha. America. Right? Say, have you noticed it’s gotten awfully quiet out here? Like, did everyone just high-tail it home real fast? I mean how dumb is that right? You have to wait for the traffic to die down. That’s why we brought extra beer. Hey, do you see those guys over there? Man, they look reeeeaaaally drunk. Like – really drunk. I wonder if we should offer to help them out – what do you think babe? Babe? Hey, your hand has gotten super cold but it’s 85 out. Are you ok? Babe?

"Consider this your unparalleled introduction to Seattle improv
(with the bar set quite high)."

Slaycation

February 2015

Blood Squad, in collaboration with 14/48 Projects Late Night at West of Lenin, presents a fully-improvised show in the style of European-travel-horror inspired by such films as Hostel, Don’t Look Now, and Suspiria.

Backpacking through Europe post-college was the best idea you guys. Let’s just see where the journey takes us! I met a super-hot Finnish guy in a pub last night and he tells me there’s this amazing B&B on a cliff staffed only by cute 20-somethings in a remote village about 100 miles from here that we HAVE to see. Apparently the parties there are amaaazing.

We have to hop an overnight train and we’ll be there by morning. No time to wait until we’re sober. What? No don’t call your parents to tell them where you’re going. How lame. This is an adventure!

Carnevil

June 2014

One warm summer evening the carnival arrived in town. The lights and smells and music called to the townspeople and they came in droves. They rode the rides, played the games, ate the cotton candy and never suspected the evil that lurked behind the Ferris wheel, the ring toss or the concessions stand. Groups of friends scattered to different attractions as the shadows grew longer. Nobody seemed to remember who they came with, or if their numbers had decreased by the time they parted. They had all forgotten that when the Carnival moves from town to town, it always takes a little something with it.

For a two-night performance in celebration of summer, Blood Squad, in collaboration with Annex Theatre, presents Carnevil, a show in the style of carnival horror inspired by such classics as “Something Wicked This Way Comes”, “The Funhouse” & all your circus-filled nightmares. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.

Camp Death

August 2011
